Platypus Affiliated Society

„Die Linke ist tot. Es lebe die Linke!“ Seit bald 10 Jahren begleitet die Platypus Affiliated Society in Jena die kritische Selbstbildung im Schatten einer politisch toten Bewegung. Wir organisieren Lesekreise, öffentliche Veranstaltungen, Vorträge, Forschung und Journalismus im Hinblick auf überkommene, ungelöste Probleme und Aufgaben der „alten“ (1920er-30er), „neuen“ (1960er-70er), „post-politischen“ (1980er-90er) und „millennial“ (2000er-2010er) Linken und der Möglichkeiten für emanzipatorische Politik heute. Platypus will das Gespräch auf der Linken führen.

“The Left is dead. Long live the Left!” For nearly 10 years, the Jena chapter of the Platypus Affiliated Society has been fostering critical self-education in the shadow of a politically defunct movement. We organize reading groups, public events, lectures, research, and journalism focused on long-standing, unresolved problems and challenges facing the “old” (1920s–1930s), “new” (1960s–1970s), “post-political” (1980s–1990s), and “millennial” (2000s–2010s) Left, as well as the possibilities for emancipatory politics today. Platypus aims to host the conversation on the Left.
