In diesem Vortrag geben wir von Ya Basta Jena einen Einstieg in die zapatistische Bewegung, erzählen von unserem Austausch mit den Compas in Mexiko und diskutieren, was wir von ihnen für unsere Kämpfe hier lernen und umsetzen können – ohne anzueignen. spitzt sich zu. For 30 years, the Zapatistas in Chiapas/Mexico have been fighting for autonomy, dignity and against their oppression as indigenous people, for radical self-administration, collective autonomy and equality for women and the “other sexes”. Sounds far away? Its not. Because we are in direct contact with the Zapatistas – and their struggles affect us too.
In this lecture, we from Ya Basta Jena will give an introduction to the Zapatista movement, talk about our exchange with the Compas in Mexico and discuss what we can learn from them for our struggles here and put into practice – without appropriating.
The violence against indigenous, autonomous structures in Mexico is coming to a head. We have been called upon to take action.
So we ask ourselves: What can we do here without appropriating? What does it mean to show solidarity in a global crisis – not just symbolically, but practically? And how can we integrate the rebellion against capitalism and patriarchy into our local everyday lives?
