Medical Students For Choice (MSFC)

Wir sind die Medical Students for Choice (kurz MSFC) Jena, eine Ortsgruppe der weltweiten Organisation Medical Students for Choice die 1993 in den USA und 2015 in Deutschland gegründet wurde. Wir setzen uns hauptsächlich für reproduktive Gerechtigkeit in der Medizin ein. Das bedeutet vor allem, aber nicht nur, dass wir für barrierearme und selbstbestimmte Schwangerschaftsabbrüche kämpfen und die Lehre im Medizinstudium verbessern möchten. Darüber hinaus wolle wir aber auch eine kritische, feministische Sichtweise auf die Medizin und Gesellschaft fördern. Dies tun wir durch öffentliche Aufklärung, politisch-aktivistische Arbeit und das Einwirken in die Lehre im Medizinstudium an sich.

We are Medical Students for Choice (MSFC in short form) Jena a local group of an organisation that is active all over the world, Medical Students for Choice, which was founded in the US in 1993 and in 2015 in Germany. Our main goal is the furtherance (falsches Wort im Original, das hier ist das Richtige habe ich offensichtlich damals nicht gesehen sorryyy) of reproductive justice in the medical field. That means we mainly but not exclusively fight to lower the barriers to get an abortion and make them more self-determined. Our other main goal is to improve the teaching of abortions for medical students. Furthermore we push for a critical, feminist perspective on medicine and larger society. Our main ways of reaching those goals are public education, political activism and influencing the education medical students get.
